VET4FOOD

VET training for food sustainability

The project promotes food sustainability in vocational education and training (VET) by strengthening teachers’ and students’ skills in sustainable practices in the food and tourism sectors.
Topics
Prosperity / Circular & Green Economy

About the project

Food sustainability is crucial for the food sector ethically, economically, and due to increasingly strict EU regulations. While sustainable food businesses have growth potential, creating future sustainable entrepreneurs requires raising awareness and training young people. Education programs can develop skills in sustainability, particularly in the Tourism and Food sectors, which are closely linked to the environment and require professionals to guide the transition to greener methods.

This project seeks to reduce the training gap in food VET schools by improving teachers’ and students’ sustainability skills and awareness, enhance the quality of vocational training to meet sector needs, embed food sustainability topics into VET curricula through dedicated modules, and strengthen teachers’ use of experiential learning, educational entertainment, and digital tools for both face-to-face and online training.
